Project Description:
The Senior Web designer will report to the Acting Marketing Director, Marketing & Public Affairs, and Cost Center
Our client has a requirement to redevelop its Internet web site. Our client is currently creating various RFP's and RFI's to develop a customer focused accessible site (W3C Guidelines, Priority Level 2) with a common look and feel throughout its website and future applications.
The client is also developing plans and strategies for future applications, i.e. Internet trip planning, e-commerce applications, automated customer notification and Transportation Reservations.
Description of Duties/Scope of Work:
Working in conjunction with the client’s staff, the Senior Web Designer is responsible for the creation of an RFP for the clients Internet site. This will entail defining detailed requirements, establishing design standards and use of best practices and tools to get the client's message to the public. Creation of requirements, which will ensure the site, is developed in accordance with W3C Accessibility Guidelines, Priority Level 2. Evaluation of options for a content management tool and hosting scenarios. Development of testing strategies required for the RFP to ensure a positive Customer experience and site accessibility.
Special Skills/Certification Required:
·Minimum of 5 years Web Design experience at a senior level with demonstrated skills such as:
·RFP development and evaluation
·Senior Website Designer 5+ years
·Content Management tool experience including assessment and implementation
·Web content planning and architecture
·E-commerce site development and planning
·Familiar with the Web Industry and accessibility technology
·Experience designing and developing transit or government related websites preferred
Deliverables:
·RFP for the client’s Customer site
·Evaluation of submissions
·Provide support to the working groups and selected Web Design/Development firm during the website development process and assist with the management of design/content management issues that arise particularly during the initial stages of development and the final stages of usability and accessibility testing
·Input for the development of e-commerce site RFI / P
·Input for the development of Internet trip booking site RFP
·Internet Site Requirements Document
·Internet Site Design Standards
Internet Site Design Document
·Internet Site Application Integration Standards Document
·Deliverable related to a Content Management System
